What are your beliefs about “humanistic writing” versus “scientific writing”?
When I think of humanistic writing, the first thing that comes to mind is that there is an overall quality to the writing that reveals a person’s opinion, interpretation of life or experiences. Humanistic writing can study literature, religion, life, philosophy, and culture. It does not wholly leave out human thought process, actions, emotions and artistic expression, it embraces these things. Scientific writing, on the other hand, is limited to description of the world around us, empirically studied, and may describe scientific work or processes in general, whether that be on quantitative experiments, or notation of research data. The main difference between these two is that presence of human interpretation, everything from opinion to artistic style.
