Humanistic writing can study literature, religion, life, philosophy, and culture. Scientific writing, on the other hand, is limited to description of the world around us, empirically studied, and may describe scientific work or processes in general, whether that be on quantitative experiments, or notation of research data. The main difference between these two is that presence of human interpretation, everything from opinion to artistic style.
